Floral Wallpaper - Van Gogh - Flowering Plum Orchard, Green

For this second Van Gogh Museum collection, we delved deeper into the oeuvre of this remarkable painter. It was quite a challenge, since his enormous legacy provides an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration. Ultimately we selected paintings that clearly illustrate Van Gogh’s love of Japanese art. Van Gogh himself said that this art made him happier and more content and changed his perspective on the world. The key works we have selected include Flowering Plum Orchard (after Hiroshige), Sprig of Flowering Almond in a Glass and Vase with Chinese Asters and Gladioli. These colourful pieces, packed with wonderful details and painted with great passion, form the basis of the collection. And it’s a collection that we are very proud to present.
